In 8 tight episodes, Season One unfolds across 48 hours of gathering for the big Giordano family Christmas celebration at Lisa’s baby brother’s home.
Lisa, coming alone this year, drives through the desert with her parents, (thorny enough). But as 287 miles and 48 hours tick by, Aldo grows surlier, Ella grows sick then sicker, and Lisa’s life grows waaaay more complicated.
Siblings’ storylines weave in: Tano & Nisha’s travel, tensions, and twists... Marco & Manuela’s opposite approaches to parents (and parenting)... But Lisa’s in the middle of it all, with her own mess:
After a texting #FAIL with Bill, Lisa must finally tell her parents her marriage is over. Yet when she panics over her mom’s health, she calls Bill for comfort. Without thinking twice — or telling Lisa — he flies to L.A. to support her. But when she comes home at dawn on Christmas? From a date with a man she met at LaGuardia? After sleeping in a hotel room?! Yeah, it’s hard to convince Bill she slept alone. But he agrees to stay for dinner, Lisa sees a second chance, and Christmas morning is joyful — until Ella collapses and is rushed to the E.R.
